Where to Find Brands to Work With

Ana Cahill • December 6, 2020

If you read my last blogging post, you know that you don't need to have 10K followers to work with brands on Instagram, TikTok, etc., especially now that more brands are starting to work with more micro-influencers as opposed to a single huge one. Over the last few years, I've had the opportunities to work with hundreds of brands, and while many of them are through direct contact via email or DM's either from the brand or me reaching out (more tips on how to do this coming in my next post!), I've also gotten some great opportunities through online marketing and influencer platforms.

These platforms were created to help influencers (or really anyone) connect with brands to either review their product, or promote it on social media. These platforms either allow you to directly apply for campaigns, or they enter you into their database and will reach out when a collaboration that is a good fit for you comes along.

I've tried countless platforms, but these 4 are a few of my favorites that I've had the most success with, and are easy to use!

1. Influenster

If you're just getting started working with brands, Influenster provides an awesome opportunity for practically anyone to try products for free in exchange for a review, whether it's on Influenster directly, the companies website, social media, etc. You can browse thousands of products, and find ones that work best for you and your brand. Using these free products to start to create content is a great way to start building your portfolio so you can transition to paid collaborations! Sign up here.

2. Octoly

Octoly is a similar platform to Influenster in the sense that you receive free products in exchange for either a review or a post on social media. You do need to have at least 1,000 followers and a 2% engagement rate to sign up for Octoly, but they make it super easy for you to request up to five products at a time to review or post. Sign up here.

3. Fohr

Fohr is a marketing ambassador program that helps match you with brands running campaigns. I love this platform specifically because it puts together an incredible portfolio of your stats for you that you can use to show brands more about your account, like your most popular posts, your engagement, your audience insights, etc. This platform typically reaches out to you if there is a campaign that is a good fit for you, but occasionally you'll have an opportunity to apply for a campaign. The campaigns on Fohr are typically paid campaigns as opposed to product for post exchanges. Sign up here.

4. Signature Marketing

Signature Marketing is a marketing agency I began working with years ago as a promotional model, and now they offer brand ambassador programs as well! They're always looking for new faces to add to their database for future campaigns, which typically include alcohol, health and wellness, and more! You can apply here.

They're currently running an awesome campaign for a new energy bar - you can apply here!

If you have any other questions or need more explaining on how to use these platforms - feel free to shoot me a message!

One thing about me is I'm always looking for a cozy retreat, an excuse to slow down, and a bathtub. When I stumbled across Honeytree on Instagram, I knew I had to add it to my list for my next trip to Texas. A few weeks ago I was there to celebrate Peter's birthday, and wanted to do something relaxing that wasn't just a typical stay-cation, and I knew Honeytree would be the perfect spot. It ended up being everything I wanted and more, and I thought I'd share a little bit more about the property, the cabins, and experience so you can book the perfect retreat for yourself, a gift, or honestly any occasion you just want to unwind. The Properties: Blue Sage & The Meadow HoneyTree actually has two separate locations in Fredericksburg: The Meadow and Blue Sage . Both feel thoughtfully removed from the noise of everyday life but each has its own energy. The Meadow is a bit closer to town and home to five original treehouses, all perched among old-growth trees with views of Palo Alto Creek. These cabins are a bit more tucked away and wooded if you want to feel like you're glamping in the trees. Blue Sage , where we stayed, is a newer property about 10 minutes from downtown, with 12 uniquely designed cabins with views of wide open Hill Country land. This spot is a little more spacious and less wooded, and has a common space with grills and a fire pit. They're in the process of adding some fun wellness perks that I can't wait to go back and enjoy like a sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, and more. Each cabin is privately tucked into its own space for privacy, and the only noises we heard our whole stay were the neighbors roosters which in my opinion really authenticated the Texas Hill Country experience. The Cabins One of the things I loved most about HoneyTree is that every single cabin feels intentional and unique. The husband-and-wife founders, Jacob and Katie, designed the cabins by alternating creative lead, with one designing the even numbers and the other designing the odd numbers. You can feel the balance of perspectives and care in every detail. It was honestly so hard to choose which one to stay in, but you know I'm a sucker for a good bathtub, and Peter had one on his roof growing up and I love nostalgia, so I landed on Cabin No. 7 , aka, The Rooftop Soak Tub. We woke up to the sunrise through our giant window with a view of the hills, tanned on the roof, and of course took advance of the soak tub as much as we could. The views were wide open and uninterrupted, but the cabin still felt secluded and peaceful. It was equipped with everything we needed - towels, robes, cooking supplies, games, bug spray, blankets, all the essentials and more.
